Kangli Village, Kathia Mathia Panchayat of Sikta Block in West Champaran, Bihar
Nagma Khatun is a young woman SoochnaPreneur from West Champaran district in Bihar. She has completed her education till Class 12th. Her family consists of her parents, two brothers and one sister. Nagma’s father is a farmer and her mother is a home-maker. She feels that even in today’s age girls from rural India are not often allowed to stand on their own feet and she wants to break that perception by showing to others that women can be equally competent and independent as men. Before working as a SoochnaPreneur she had very less knowledge about her Gram Panchayat and various government schemes. Now she is able to pass on the information related to various government schemes to the people in her community and is making an effort towards helping people so that they can get benefits of the schemes and in turn get their due rights. The SoochnaPreneur programme has also enabled her to provide basic digital services to people which they were not able to avail in their vicinity.
